Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Retire Beyond Borders collects, why, and what your rights are. It is written to be read, so we have kept it plain.
Who we are
Retire Beyond Borders is a trading name of Connor Hoy, 7 Sunnyside, Edenbridge, TN8 6HP. We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us the data controller under UK GDPR.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you sign up for the guide and newsletter.
- Records of how you interact with our emails, such as whether you open them and which links you click.
- If you accept cookies, information from the Meta Pixel about how you arrived on this site and what you do on it.
- Basic technical data in our hosting provider’s logs, such as your IP address and browser type, used to keep the site secure and working.
We don’t ask for sensitive information, and we don’t ask for payment details.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To send you the free guide and our newsletter. Our basis is your consent.
- To measure how our adverts and website perform. Our basis is your consent, which we ask for through the cookie notice.
- To keep a record that you have unsubscribed, so we don’t email you again. Our basis is our legitimate interest in respecting your choice.
- To keep the site secure and working. Our basis is our legitimate interest.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your email address. We use a small number of service providers to run the site and the newsletter:
- MailerLite, which stores your email address and sends our emails for us.
- Cloudflare, which hosts and secures this website.
- Meta, only if you accept cookies, for advertising measurement.
Some guides and newsletter issues may link to other companies’ products or services. Once you click through, their own privacy policies apply. Where we may earn a commission from a link, we say so.
Our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they should rely on recognised safeguards for international transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record so that we don’t email you again. If you ask us to delete your data, we will, apart from anything the law requires us to keep.
Cookies
This site only uses cookies if you accept them in the cookie notice. They come from the Meta Pixel and are used to measure how our advertising performs. We also store your cookie choice in your browser so we don’t keep asking. The site’s fonts and images are hosted on our own domain. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Contact
To use any of these rights, reply to any email we have sent you or write to the address above.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell subscribers by email.
